His Bed

This bed is big enough for him to share with Buddy AND Brutus. But while we don’t have visitors, it’s big enough for him.

Yeah, Reggie is neglected. I never spoil him.

Working from Home with Reggie

I’m working from home today, and this is how we work. I have a laptop on my lap, and Reggie curls up next to me. He snores the day away.

Going out at 4AM

On our walk last night, Reggie didn’t poop. He’s usually very consistent, pooping on the morning and evening walks.

I woke up at 4AM to go to the bathroom. When I crawled back in bed, I had to move Reggie from the center of the bed. He tends to slide into the warm spot I just gave up. No sooner than my head hit the pillow, Reggie was jumping down off the bed. When I followed him, he was in the bathroom, walking in circles. I could tell that he was about to make a mess. “No! We potty outside!”

He was at the door immediately. So I threw on a pair of jeans and some shoes and we went outside at 4AM. It wasn’t long before Reggie pooped outside.

While I don’t want to encourage him to go outside at 4AM, this was probably better than having to clean up piles and puddles.

Walker

The past couple of days, I’ve met with two different people from Gentle Leaders, Reggie’s new dog walkers.

Michelle starts on Thursday. My intent is for her to walk Reggie when I go away for the daytrips to New York or when I have stuff after work. Just to keep Reggie familiar with her, I’m going to have her walk him at least one day a week. It’s fairly inexpensive, too.

Toybox

Reggie cracks me up sometimes. He was in the kitchen eating his supper. When he finished, he casually came trotting into the living room where he went to the toybox, grabbed a purple, and then trotten into the bedroom with it. At that point, he jumped up on the bed and then shook the hell out of purple.

Reggie never does this. I have no idea what prompted it. I’m just glad I was able to grab the camera in time.

Keeping Reggie Busy

Reggie hasn’t gotten his kong is a really long time, and he seemed to enjoy it. He certainly stayed busy for a while.

Antlers

I came across his antlers in a box and tried to take a picture. You’d be surprised how hard we had to work to get one decent picture. The outtakes are pretty funny.

Of course, I turned around and he had started to take revenge on the antlers. I’ll let the pictures tell the story.

Guarding the Remote

I need to stress that this picture is not posed.  He actually was on top of the remote control.

New Old Vet

I just got a call from Karen at the South Boston Animal Hospital. They used to have a vet there that I really liked. Well, she’s coming back. This makes me very happy.

Trashy Pug

I went out with some friends last night and came home to a big mess. Reggie had gotten into the trash.

Keep in mind that I keep the kitchen trash on the back of the kitchen door so that it’s up off the floor and too high for Reggie to reach. In what can only be called a “Chapter 7 moment” I had left a laundry basket in front of the door when I brought my laundry up from the basement. Reggie took advantage of this by getting up on top of the once-clean laundry and vaulted his way up to the trash. When I walked in the door, he knew he was in trouble. It was obviously too late to yell at him for doing this.

Over night, I woke up and Reggie wasn’t in my bed. The little shit was digging through the laundry for any remnants of the brussel sprouts that had fallen into the laundry basket. I thought I had gotten them all out of the laundry basket. Obviously not.

I swear, if he weren’t so damn cute, he’d be a rug.
